As many of you have heard China launched a rocket the Long March 5B on the 29th of April 2021, with the idea of making their own International Space Station. The launch was a success and also the deployment of the first part of the space station, but unfortunately the rocket is on its way back to earth and no one knows where it will make impact. We do know that it will probably hit on the 9th of May.
Now the mentioned rocket is not small as its about 30m long, weighs in at 22 tons and is currently traveling at around 16,000mph. Now this isn’t the first time Chinas rockets have fallen back to earth, last year a village of the ivory coast had rocket debris raining on them and falling through house roofs, luckily no one was hurt.
According to Stanfords.ArtsReview it may kill thousands if it would make impact with a city. Now luckily the earth is made up mostly of water, and the chances for it to splash down instead of crash down is much higher. Also most of the rocket will burn out in the earths atmosphere, but there is still parts that will make it down towards earth. But if you are worried about getting flattened by a nosecone from a rocket, there is a live tracker on YouTube just to be safe.
